FISITA was founded in Paris in 1948 and is currently an international organization for automotive technology with JSAEs from 38 countries as members. The FISITA International Conference is held every two years, and is a festival where engineers from all over the world gather together to deepen their connections through various events such as Technical Sessions and tours.
JSAE joined in 1960 and has held its 10th Congress in 1964, its 16th Congress in 1976, and its 31st Congress in 2006 in Japan.

APAC (Asia Pacific Automotive Engineering Conference; Asia Pacific JSAE Conference)

The predecessor of this conference, IPC (International Pacific Conference on Automotive Engineering; Pacific JSAE Conference), was established in 1979 as a distinctive international conference in the Pacific region co-sponsored by Australia, China, Indonesia, South Korea, the United States, and this conference. Ta. The conference is held once every two years, with many engineers participating, and serves as a forum for the exchange of technology and information between the Pacific region community and international cooperation.
Currently, in addition to the above countries, Iran, India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand have joined as members, the name was changed from IPC to APAC starting with the 14th Congress in Hollywood in 2007, with the aim of further development as an international congress covering a wider area, including West and South Asia.

In Japan, the Japan Industrial Standardization Commission (JISC; the secretariat is the Standards Division, Industrial Technology and Environment Bureau, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) joined the organization in 1952. The association participates in the specialized committees ISO/TC22 (automobiles) and TC204 (vehicle traffic information control systems) as a P member (member with voting rights).
