<Special feature>Production and manufacturing technology using new technology and new materials

　Toward electrification and environmental friendliness in the automobile industry, new materials and new processing technologies for plant materials are required at production and manufacturing sites. At the same time, advances in press and casting technology are also needed to reduce weight. I believe that these processing technologies are not completely new, but rather an evolution of technologies cultivated through traditional manufacturing.
　In addition, the efficiency required at production and manufacturing sites does not necessarily mean reducing the number of people on the site, but rather showing that people are solving difficult problems using new technology and new methods. The new technologies and methods we picked up this time are DX, AI, and model-based. We hope that you will learn that today's manufacturing is a flexible combination of technology developed by our predecessors and new technology, and that this special issue will give you a sense of the bright future of Japanese manufacturing.
