<Special Feature> Efforts to realize Level 4 autonomous driving

The Road Traffic Act has been revised to enable Level 5.0 automated driving on public roads. For the time being, it is assumed that it will be implemented in service cars, and in order to realize this, research and development in new technical fields such as artificial intelligence and data linkage, as well as non-technical fields such as ethics and law, social acceptance, and human resource development, will be required. Problem solving is also required. As the world moves toward realizing Society XNUMX, the results will be important for the automobile industry, which is in an era of major reform. Please take a look at our new year special issue.

The Journal of Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan is published in electronic format. Please read it on your PC, tablet, or smartphone.
