"Special Feature: Toward Real-World Implementation of Hydrogen: Contributing to Carbon Neutrality by 2050"
This special issue focuses on hydrogen from the perspective of powertrain technology. With the enactment of the "Hydrogen Society Promotion Act" in May 2024, and the increasing prevalence of hydrogen engine sessions in our Technical Sessions alongside FCVs, we are seeing a growing number of discussions on hydrogen engines. As we move towards achieving carbon neutrality, a multifaceted approach to technological selection is required. This issue organizes key issues such as energy conversion efficiency, storage and transportation methods, and constraints during vehicle installation, following the flow of "production, storage, transportation, and use." We hope this special issue will be helpful in considering hydrogen powertrains as a realistic option.
