JSAE (Chairman: Kunio Nakakubo) announced the winners of the 4th JSAE Awards on Friday, April 25th. They are as follows:

The JSAE Award was established in 1951 with the aim of encouraging the advancement and development of automotive engineering and technology, and is presented in recognition of outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of automotive technology.

The Technical Education Award was established in 2009 with the aim of encouraging the development of human resource development and education in the automotive field, and is presented to individuals or groups who have demonstrated outstanding achievements.


Award ceremony and Q&A session with award recipients

The award ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 5nd during the JSAE Annual Congress (Spring) on ​​the 22rd floor of the Pacifico Yokohama Conference Center. After the ceremony, there will be a "Winners Q&A Time" from 3:2 to 2:15 at the Awards Panel Corner (near the 30nd floor concourse) on the 16nd floor of the Pacifico Yokohama Exhibition Hall, where the JSAE Award winners will directly answer questions from visitors.

The award is based on funds provided by the 3rd Chairman Naomichi Kusunoki, the 6th Chairman Torao Aramaki, the 9th Chairman Shoichi Saito, and the 10th Chairman Ryoichi Nakagawa and Masao Ito.

  • Academic Contribution Award: This award is given to an individual who has contributed to the advancement and development of academic science related to automobiles and whose achievements are outstanding.
  • Technical Contribution Award: An award given to an individual who has contributed to the advancement and development of automobile technology and whose achievements are outstanding.

This award was established in 26 at the suggestion of the first President, Genshichi Asahara.

  • Academic Encouragement Award: This award is given to a promising up-and-coming individual who is under the age of 37 and has published a paper that has contributed to automotive engineering or technology in the past three years.
  • Technical Achievement Award: This award is given to an individual who has made a significant contribution to the advancement of automobile technology over many years, but whose accomplishments are not well known to the public.
