“Cold forming technology using ultra-high strength steel sheets and in-plane shear deformation that contributes to weight reduction of automobiles”
Mr. Koji Tanaka, Nippon Steel Corporation
In order to achieve carbon neutrality, progress is being made in the development and application of ultra-high strength steel sheets that contribute to reducing the weight of automobiles. Additionally, in order to process these ultra-high-strength steel sheets, a new concept cold press technology has been developed that utilizes "in-plane shear deformation," a deformation mode with a high forming limit. In this lecture, we will introduce these ultra-high strength steel plates and the cold press technology for processing them.

“Characteristics of aluminum alloy castings and die casting and technological development for EV shift”
Mr. Katsuhiro Ode, Ahresty Co., Ltd.
At COP28, it was agreed to "depart from fossil fuels," and decarbonization is expected to accelerate. Aluminum alloy die-casting has traditionally been widely used in automobiles, but with the shift to EVs, the required functions are also changing. Additionally, it is essential to take measures that take into account the entire life cycle, including metals, bonding, and recycling. We would like to take this opportunity to once again introduce the characteristics of each construction method, alloy, etc., to deepen our understanding, and share technological developments based on the aforementioned trends.

“The latest materials contributing to the mobility field”
Mr. Takuya Karaki, Toray Industries, Inc.
In this presentation, we will introduce the latest materials that contribute to the mobility field. We categorize the performance required for next-generation mobility into electrification (next-generation power training), weight reduction, comfort, safety and security, and also identify materials and their applications that can be solutions from a common environmental friendliness and carbon neutral perspective. introduce.
