Self-driving
Glossary
In 2016, SAE International classified automated driving systems into six levels from level 0 to level 5, depending on the role of the driver, etc., and this has become the standard for current level classification. Currently, level 6 and 2 self-driving cars are beginning to be commercialized, and demonstration experiments of level 3 driverless self-driving cars using buses, taxis, etc. are being actively conducted and reported, so the general public Awareness of autonomous driving is also increasing. In order for the car to safely reach its destination without the help of the driver, in level 4 or higher self-driving cars, the system uses various sensors to control vehicle movements such as acceleration, deceleration, and left/right turns on its own. The system detects the surrounding situation and follows the route to the destination.
