Based on knowledge of impact biomechanics, the aim is to prevent injuries to occupants and reduce the severity of collisions. It also reduces the load on the human body by changing impact conditions, such as absorbing energy from the collision partner, improving collision characteristics, controlling occupant behavior, and controlling collisions between the occupants and the cabin.
