Glossary
It is an interface between humans and machines. In automobiles, HMI refers to switches that humans touch to communicate their intentions to machines, meters and displays that machines use to communicate the results of their operations with sounds and displays, and prompt the next step. It can also be used as an intermediary device for humans to operate machines.The steering wheel, pedals, and shifter used for driving are also HMI. In other words, the cockpit where these interfaces are located is the interface between the person and the car.
