2023 Integration Competition Challenge Theme

Automated driving systems used for automated transportation within factories are required to have both low vehicle prices and high task processing capabilities. Therefore, the challenge is to achieve a good balance of safety, availability, and drivability under the constraints of limited computing resources and simple sensor configurations.

Safety

In an environment where humans and robots work together, it is important to prevent accidents caused by encounters with workers emerging from the shadows of equipment, to discover leftover objects randomly placed on aisles, and to stop them reliably and safely. You will be asked for it.

Usability

In petrochemical plants, for example, steam emitted from pipes installed close to the ground can obstruct the sensor's view. Driving in a variety of environments requires a recognition system that can operate even in environments with steam and smoke.

Runnability

Indoor spaces in factories and warehouses include paths that are narrow enough for a forklift to pass through, and passageways that weave between equipment, machinery, and shelves. Therefore, it is necessary to develop functions that allow the vehicle to travel smoothly on complex narrow roads.

Competition Description - Integration Competition

Overview

To all participants,Autoware.UniverseYou will develop autonomous driving software based on . The goal is to use a self-driving car integrated with the developed software to clear three theme-based challenges and complete the course in a short amount of time.

In qualifying, digital twin autonomous driving simulator AWSIMA self-driving car will run on it.

In the final round, participants will tune and develop their vehicles based on data obtained from actual vehicles, and then take on the same course as the qualifying round.

Development environment
