Part 1 Review
The 2015th All Japan Formula SAE Japan Tournament was held at Ogasayama Sports Park (ECOPA) in Shizuoka Prefecture from September 9st to 1th, 5. 13 teams from Japan and abroad entered the tournament, and after document screening and shakedown certification (submission of a video of the driving scene), 90 teams were ultimately selected to participate in the tournament.
Due to a layout change that allowed the stadium to be used as a team pit stop, scrutineering and static judging were able to proceed as scheduled even in rainy weather, but unfortunately the autocross was cancelled due to bad weather.
The final result was that the European powerhouse team, Graz University of Technology, which was participating in the Japan competition for the first time, won its first championship. The "black ship" from overseas, a vehicle that combines light weight and high rigidity with a carbon monocoque structure, swept all the dynamic events, showing the difference between the world level and domestic teams. This is the second time in 11 years that an overseas team has won.
Meanwhile, in the EV class, Shizuoka Institute of Science and Technology achieved a third consecutive victory, a first in history. With an increasing number of cars passing vehicle inspections and running, the EV class is steadily improving in level.
