International Exchange

With the globalization of economic activities, the importance of working to solve and improve problems on a global scale, such as environmental problems and transportation-related problems, through coordination and cooperation has become extremely important.
JSAE works with 35 (as of January 2023) JSAE Organizations (SAEs) and their engineers and researchers around the world to provide a forum for collaboration and cooperation through technology exchange in order to support the development and promotion of the automobile industry. We will continue to provide the following and contribute to society.

International conference

specialized international conference

We regularly hold specialized international conferences specializing in various technical areas of automotive technology. It is a place where engineers and researchers in various specialized fields gather from all over the world to present their latest research results.

Major international conferences

SETC, P,E&L, AVEC, FASTzero, EVTeC, CVT, BMD, Internal Combustion Engine Symposium

General international conference

This is an international conference covering all areas related to automotive technology.

FISITA World Congress

An international conference held once every two years, hosted by the JSAE Organizations of 35 countries (as of January 2023) that are members of FISITA (International JSAE Federation).

APAC (Asia Pacific JSAE Conference)

An international conference held every two years centered on SAEs in the Asia-Pacific region.

For more information, please see "International Conference".

student interaction

Student safety technology design competition

This is a competition in which student teams from universities and graduate schools present their original technological ideas for solving safety problems and compete on their novelty, expandability, and practicality.
Since presentations are made using scale models, not only ideas but also technical support and sufficient verification are required.

An international conference is being held as one of the programs of the ESV International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles.
At the request of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the association holds a Japan regional tournament that also serves as the selection for the national team, provides support funds, and supports sending the national team to international tournaments.

For more information, please see "Student Safety Technology Design Competition."

Japan Automotive AI Challenge

This competition was held for the first time in March 2019 as a new initiative to discover and develop engineers who will lead the automotive industry in the future in the new technology fields called CASE and MaaS.

Starting in 2022, we will hold the "Integration" competition and the "Simulation" competition twice a year, providing a challenge and learning opportunity for engineers, researchers, students, etc. involved in computer science, AI, software, and information processing. We aim to provide a place where organic connections can be realized.

Many participants from overseas can be seen in the online competition.

For more information, please see "Japan Automotive AI Challenge".

Formula SAE Japan

The tournament, which is a member of the Formula SAE Series, is held based on international rules. Every year, teams from all over the world, mainly from Asia, participate, and it is a place for university students to interact with each other.

For more information, please see "Formula SAE Japan Tournament".

Presentation support at overseas international conferences

When events targeting young people and students are held at the same time as FISITA conferences, we select presenters and support participation at the request of the organizing organization.

Overseas group exchange

About FISITA (International JSAE Federation)

ISITA is an international organization of automotive engineers that was founded at an international conference held in Paris in 1947 with the aim of promoting automotive technology. (Official name is French - Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Ingénieurs des Techniques de l'Automobile / English - International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies)

It is an international network with JSAE members from 35 countries and approximately 200,000 automotive engineer members under its umbrella. We provide a global technology exchange platform for all engineers involved in industry, academia, and government, and automobile and mobility technologies, supporting the future development and promotion of technology, engineers, and society.

The biggest event is the FISITA World Congress, which is held once every two years. Nearly 2,000 engineers, scientists, and corporate executives participate, gaining knowledge through paper presentations and other activities in all areas of automotive technology.・Information will be exchanged. This is the oldest comprehensive international conference on automotive technology.
In recent years, we have been holding EuroBrake, an international conference specializing in the field of brake technology.

Similar to the activities of JSAE in each country, we are focusing on supporting the development of students and young engineers, and after the coronavirus pandemic, we are providing services online and through our website, such as online lectures (forums).

FISITA (International JSAE Federation) and JSAE

Since joining FISITA in 1960, JSAE has been promoting international exchange as a major member of FISITA by dispatching FISITA officers, directors, and committee members. Through committee activities, we share information on the status of activities in other countries, and deepen exchanges, especially when it comes to new initiatives by sharing information as ``Best Practice.''

Collaboration with FISITA member countries

We are promoting collaborative relationships with FISITA member countries such as SAE International (USA), CSAE (China), KSAE (Korea), and TSAE (Thailand).

Exhibition

Automotive technology exhibition

The Human and Automotive Technology Exhibition was first held in Yokohama in 1992, and in the more than 30 years since then, it has come to be recognized as one of the leading exhibitions in Japan.
As an exhibition that brings together the latest automotive technology and front-line engineers and researchers, it has received high praise from both exhibitors and visitors.
In addition to domestic companies, the exhibition now has a rich international flavor, with exhibitors centered around major global suppliers, as well as national and local governments such as embassies in Japan.
