International Exchange
With the globalization of economic activities, it is becoming increasingly important to work together to solve and improve environmental, transportation, and other global problems through coordination and cooperation.
JSAE, together with the 35 (as of January 2023) Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and their engineers and researchers around the world, will continue to provide a forum for cooperation and collaboration through the exchange of technology to support the development and promotion of the automotive industry and contribute to society.
International conference
specialized international conference
We regularly hold international conferences specializing in various fields of automotive technology, bringing together engineers and researchers from around the world in each specialized field to present the latest research results.
Major international conferences
SETC, P,E&L, AVEC, FASTzero, EVTeC, CVT, BMD, Internal Combustion Engine Symposium
General international conference
This is an international conference covering all areas related to automotive technology.
FISITA World Congress
An international conference held once every two years, hosted by the JSAE Organizations of 35 countries (as of January 2023) that are members of FISITA (International JSAE Federation).
APAC (Asia Pacific JSAE Conference)
An international conference held every two years, centered around SAE in the Asia-Pacific region

student interaction
Student safety technology design competition
This is a competition in which student teams from universities and graduate schools present their original technological ideas for solving safety problems, and compete on the basis of originality, potential for development, and practicality.
Presentations will be made using scale models, so not only ideas but also technical support and thorough verification are required.
The international conference is held as part of the program of the International Technical Conference on the Enhanced Safety of Vehicles (ESV).
At the request of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, the association holds regional tournaments in Japan, which also serve as the selection process for the national team, provides financial support, and supports the national team's dispatch to international tournaments.
For more information, please see the "Student Safety Technology Design Competition."
Japan Automotive AI Challenge
This competition was first held in March 2019 as a new initiative to discover and develop engineers who will lead the automotive industry in the new technological fields known as CASE and MaaS.
Starting in 2022, the "Integration" and "Simulation" competitions will be held twice a year, aiming to provide a forum for engineers, researchers, students, and others involved in computer science, AI, software, and information processing to challenge themselves, as well as provide learning opportunities and foster organic connections.
Many participants from overseas are also seen at online competitions.
For more information, please see the Japan Automotive AI Challenge.
Formula SAE Japan
The event, which is a member of the Formula SAE Series, is held according to international rules. Teams from around the world, primarily from Asia, participate every year, and it serves as a platform for university students to interact with each other.
For more information, please see the "Formula SAE Japan Tournament."
Support for presentations at international conferences overseas
When events aimed at young people and students are held in conjunction with FISITA conferences and other events, we will select presenters and provide support for participation at the request of the organizing organization.

About FISITA (International Federation of JSAE)
ISITA is an international organization of automotive engineers that was founded at an international conference held in Paris in 1947 with the aim of promoting automotive technology. (Its official name is French: Fédération Internationale des Sociétés d'Ingénieurs des Techniques de l'Automobile / English: International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies)
Currently, JSAE is an international network with member organizations in 35 countries and approximately 200,000 members who are automotive engineers. It provides a global platform for technical exchange for all engineers involved in industry, academia, and government, and automobile and mobility technology, and supports the future development and promotion of technology, engineers, and society.
The largest event is the biannual FISITA World Congress, where nearly 2,000 engineers, scientists, and corporate executives participate and exchange knowledge and information through paper presentations and other means across all areas of automotive technology. It is the oldest comprehensive international conference on automotive technology.
In recent years, we have been hosting EuroBrake, an international conference specializing in the field of brake technology.
Similar to the activities of JSAE in other countries, we are also focusing on supporting the development of students and young engineers, and in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are providing services online and through our website, such as online lectures (forums).
FISITA (International Federation of JSAE) and JSAE
Since joining FISITA in 1960, JSAE has been a key member of the organization, promoting international exchange through the dispatch of FISITA officers, directors, and committee members. Through committee activities, we share information on the activities of other countries, and deepen exchanges by sharing information on new initiatives as "best practices," in particular.
Cooperation with FISITA member countries
We are promoting collaborative relationships with countries under the FISITA umbrella, including SAE International (USA), CSAE (China), KSAE (Korea), and TSAE (Thailand).

Exhibition
Automotive Technology Exhibition
The Automotive Engineering Exposition was first held in Yokohama in 1992, and over the course of more than 30 years it has come to be recognized as one of Japan's leading exhibitions.
The exhibition has been highly praised by both exhibitors and visitors as it brings together the latest automotive technologies and leading engineers and researchers.
Currently, in addition to domestic companies, the exhibition is also attended by major global suppliers, as well as exhibitors from countries and local governments such as embassies in Japan, making it a very international exhibition.
