The 2020 Student Safety Technology Design Competition [Company Tour to Toyota Motor Corporation] was held.

Of the six teams that entered the 2020 SSTDC, a total of 6 people from five teams visited Toyota Motor Corporation's Higashi-Fuji Technical Center on Tuesday, October 5th.

During the company tour, the group was given an overview of the research institute, followed by a talk on crash safety, after which they toured a wide variety of testing facilities in the crash test building, and were given an explanation of the anthropomorphic dummies used in crash tests. As for preventive safety, they were given an explanation of advanced technology research, and then they toured the driving simulator facility.

After the tour, the participants had a networking session with young engineers, who exchanged opinions and gave advice on the technical presentations that each team had presented.

Each team will create a proposal based on the experiences they gained from the company tours and networking events, and the teams that pass the document screening process will advance to the Japan finals in March 2020.
