What is the Student Safety Technology Design Competition (SSTDC)?

This is an event with student participation that has been held since 1 as one of the programs of the "ESV International Conference" on automobile safety technology, which gathers road transport policymakers from various countries, automobile manufacturers, universities, and others.
Once every two years, an international competition is held, bringing together representative schools from around the world that have survived the qualifying round.
The Japan regional competition, which also serves as representative selection, is held at this association.
In this competition, student teams from each university and graduate school present their own technological ideas for solving safety problems and compete on their novelty, expandability, and practicality.
Presentations will be made through demonstrations and presentations using functional models (scale models, prototypes, models in a simulated environment), so not only ideas but also technical support and sufficient verification are required.

★You will have more opportunities to interact and consult with various automobile manufacturers!
At the 2025 Japan Regional Conference, we will be holding a new corporate networking event where automobile manufacturers can discuss technology and research ideas, and where students can also consult about their future careers.
In addition, teams coming from far away from the event location will receive a partial subsidy for travel expenses.
If you have an idea for safety technology, submit it today!
