The FISITA conference, which was first held in Paris in 1947, has been held in various countries around the world as the oldest "comprehensive" international conference on automotive technology. FISITA (International Federation of JSAEs) is a major network with JSAE Organizations from 37 countries worldwide and more than 180,000 automotive engineers and researchers, and the FISITA conference is one of FISITA's main events, held every two years. Japan joined FISITA in 1960, and has hosted the FISITA conference three times in the past: in 1964 (Tokyo), 1976 (Tokyo), and 2006 (Yokohama).
