Due to recent changes in the environment surrounding automobiles, in addition to the traditional issues of reducing environmental impact, weight reduction, and improving fuel efficiency, new requirements such as electrification, carbon neutrality, and LCA are also required, and automobiles are now in a period of major transformation. The Materials Committee is working to widely disseminate information on material technologies that support automobiles from the fields of steel, light metals, and chemicals. We planned a materials forum to focus on the latest trends in material technologies that will drive the great transformation of automobiles.
This forum will focus on the steel sector in particular, and will welcome not only automobile and steel material manufacturers, but also basic researchers as a joint project with the Iron and Steel Institute of Japan and the Japan Society for Technology of Plasticity, in order to share the direction of automotive material technology.
