As autonomous driving technology advances, the development and standardization of methodologies for reliability evaluation is also progressing. In addition, the establishment of laws and systems for society to accept autonomous driving is also progressing. However, in order to aim for a society that develops through autonomous driving, it is important to think of society as a whole as a single system.
In this session, we will discuss the requirements for innovation to gain due trust from society and gain social acceptance from the following perspectives:
□ Fundamental values in terms of privacy, safety, fairness, diversity, sustainability, and ELSI
□ Governance elements such as rule design, product design, organizational management, ensuring accountability, and conflict resolution
Mechanisms for sustaining governance and division of roles among industry, government and academia involved in their operation
