Model-based Development Technology Technical Committee based on International Standard Description

1.Aim of activity

Currently, model-based development (MBD) is being put into practical use in various forms in the environment surrounding automobiles, and in the future it will be further applied to digital authentication, etc. To achieve this, an international standardization strategy is essential. Furthermore, due to the intensification of competition for supremacy in manufacturing and production, the standardization trend has evolved from the acquisition of rights to a single technology to activities that target manufacturing and all manufacturing mechanisms that produce it. Therefore, this committee has been working to apply and promote MBD that complies with this international standard in the pre-development process from planning to design for manufacturing. By applying international standards to MBD, it becomes possible to (1) distribute models that ensure compatibility independent of tools, and (2) guarantee designs through digital authentication. Through the development of models based on international standard descriptions for the development of next-generation automobile systems, this committee conducts discussions on technologies that can be applied to specific manufacturing processes corresponding to each development phase through industry-academia collaboration, and promotes collaborative development. The aim is to develop and disseminate the basic technology in the form of guidelines, model templates, and mechanisms, thereby contributing to the revitalization of manufacturing and the improvement of development efficiency.

4. Volunteer activities

Efforts will be made to further develop the above research activities.
(1) Focusing on the electrification of cars, we will work to expand the scope to various parts that make up next-generation mobility, and aim to realize practical simulation technology for automotive systems.
(2) As a technology that can utilize MBD from the planning phase to the development and design phase, consider models of the granularity that can be controlled and promote its dissemination.
(3) By utilizing the cloud environment, we will distribute vehicle models, parts models, etc. created by the committee, and aim to establish MBD.
(4) Collaborate with other organizations to promote the possibility of digital authentication through simulation using standardized models.
(5) Visualize the objectives and cooperation areas of each working group, and share activities within and outside the committee.
(6) Provide education that includes the principles of simulation in order to develop engineers who create models. Furthermore, based on this education, we will discuss how to actually spread MBD.
In order to carry out the above efforts, we will form a working group and sub-working group, and based on the results, we will develop a collaborative model base using a cloud simulator and publish it.
