Sound Quality Evaluation Engineering Committee
1.Aim of activity
By improving the sound quality of cars, we aim to create new added value by improving comfort and safety, and to develop a prosperous motorized society.
The purpose is to widely share intellectual property such as methods for evaluating sound quality and methods for applying it to design, and to improve production efficiency in related fields.

4. Volunteer activities
Starting in fiscal 2021, the keywords are sound quality evaluation technology and sound quality value exploration, and a new working group has been discussing narrowing down the theme of sound quality evaluation technology.
WG1 (sound quality evaluation technology): Compared to vehicles equipped with ICE, EVs tend to produce quieter interior sounds during acceleration, and the sound quality is significantly different. Based on this, we will predict changes in sound quality needs and promote the establishment of sound quality indicators to measure them.
WG2 (Sound Quality Value Exploration): Progress is being made in disseminating next-generation vehicles to achieve carbon neutrality and solving social issues related to transportation through the advancement of automated driving. We are investigating the value of sound quality with the goal of making recommendations from the committee regarding the sound quality required of electric vehicles in an autonomous driving environment. In addition to continuing value exploration, we will investigate the value of road noise and promote the establishment of evaluation indicators.
