Tire & Road Surface Committee

1.Aim of activity

Tire/road surface technology is concerned with safety such as ``steering stability'', ``braking/driving performance'', comfort such as ``ride comfort'' and ``vibration'', and environmental performance such as ``fuel efficiency'', ``wear'', and ``noise''. , its influence is wide-ranging, and it is an important fundamental technology indispensable for the evolution and development of road transportation society. In order to grasp the trends in the latest technologies related to tires and road surfaces in Japan and overseas, this committee conducts research, exploration, and information exchange, explores the future direction of the relevant technology area through its activities, and shares the results obtained with the automobile industry. The purpose is to give back through members to improve their skills.

4. Volunteer activities

(1) We will expand our perspective to peripheral technologies centered on automobile electrification technology and autonomous driving technology, and further investigate trends in such areas as ``vehicle dynamic performance,'' ``vehicle comfort,'' and ``environmental performance.'' We also carry out research activities on the latest trends in product development technology.
(2) Promote and consider working group activities with the aim of proposing a “research project” in 2025.
(3) In order to promote technical exchange across the boundaries between industry and academia, an OS will be held at the JSAE Annual Congress (Spring).
(4) Conduct tours as part of understanding the actual situation at the site and identifying future technical issues.
