Driver Assessment Technologies Committee

1.Aim of activity

In order to realize vehicles and driving systems that provide safe and comfortable driving, as well as road and traffic systems, it is necessary to understand the characteristics of drivers, and consider system design that is appropriate for those characteristics and system control that is appropriate for the state. . Therefore, from this perspective, this committee is conducting a survey on knowledge and information in the interdisciplinary field related to evaluation methods of various driver characteristics (in a broad sense, including characteristics related to the operation and management of traffic participation systems). The aim is to advance and revitalize the field related to driver characteristics by examining application examples.

4. Volunteer activities

The committee will meet five times a year, both in-person and remotely. The committee invites committee members and external lecturers to provide topics for discussion, which will lead to the discovery of new application situations and research topics for driver characteristic evaluation research.
With the aim of further invigorating exchanges among committee members, we hold roundtable talks at each committee meeting (each time, several committee members introduce their past efforts and research themes of interest), as well as common discussions among committee members. Discussions will be held regarding ``formulation of experimental plans'' and ``discussion of experimental results'' in response to the challenges. In addition, the seminars held every year will be held again next year to continue raising the level of technology in the field.
The seminars held remotely last year will continue to raise the technical level of the relevant field, and if possible, we will explore ways to combine on-site and remote training.
