Two-wheeled Vehicle Dynamics Committee
1.Aim of activity
Improvements in the safety of motorcycles are largely achieved through active safety technology due to their structure and characteristics. Research on the motion characteristics of two-wheeled vehicles, which is the basis of this, generally involves more degrees of freedom of movement and more related vehicle specifications than four-wheeled vehicles, so challenges remain in theoretical analysis as well. This committee aims to further improve the safety of motorcycles, etc. by activating technical exchange and information exchange among engineers and researchers involved in research and development related to motorcycles, bicycles, and PMVs (personal mobility vehicles). The purpose is to contribute to the development of a healthy mobility society.

4. Volunteer activities
In fiscal year 2026, in addition to the existing technical exchange based on cutting-edge research and development topics, the committee, as a committee focused on motorcycles, will strive to foster momentum to encourage participation from Japanese speakers at the international conference BMD2026 (Bicycle and Motorcycle Dynamics Conference) scheduled to be held in Hamamatsu in September. We hope that the holding of this international conference will stimulate interest in motorcycle research among younger generations and contribute to the revitalization of the industry as a whole.
