Measurement & Diagnostics Committee

1.Aim of activity

Automotive technology has made a great contribution to humanity by providing an economical means of transportation for people and goods. Due to its great convenience, automobiles have rapidly spread throughout the world, but at the same time, problems caused by automobiles, such as CO2 emissions, are beginning to have a global impact. For the sustainable development of society, it is necessary to develop automobile technology that can address issues such as environmental burden and energy security. In this situation, there is a demand for improved performance in terms of components and systems to improve the thermal efficiency and reduce exhaust emissions of engines, which are the main power source of automobiles, and to respond to electrification and carbon-neutral fuels. In addition, as a recent trend, there is an increasing need to understand the environmental burden from the perspective of LCA and the entire supply chain. From these points of view, the role of measurement and diagnostic technology is expanding more and more. The Measurement & Diagnostics Committee's main aim is to deepen the technology related to measurement and diagnostics by providing topics and holding Q&A sessions with experts from a wide range of fields, including engineers from automobile manufacturers and measurement manufacturers, and researchers in academic fields such as fuel, combustion, thermodynamics, and control. It is our primary aim to contribute to the improvement of automobile technology by deepening the understanding of measurement and diagnostic technology through topic provision and Q&A sessions by experts from a wide range of fields, including engineers from automobile manufacturers and measurement manufacturers, and researchers in academic fields such as fuel, combustion, thermodynamics, and control.
