Gaseous-Fuel Engine Committee

1.Aim of activity

From the perspective of making gas fuel carbon neutral in response to global warming, the effective use of gas fuels derived from natural gas and renewable energy is becoming important. It is predicted that various gas fuels will become more popular in automobile engines as well. The Society seeks ways to use gas fuels (natural gas, hydrogen, biogas, LPG, DME, ammonia, etc.) in automobile engines by taking advantage of the characteristics of each type of gas fuel, and aims to improve the performance of gas fuel engines. The purpose of this study is to clarify the requirements, usefulness, and possibilities of high efficiency, as well as issues regarding fuel systems and fuel supply infrastructure. We also hope that this association will be used as a forum for the exchange of information among engineers involved in these research, development, and dissemination activities.

4. Volunteer activities

We plan organized sessions at the JSAE Annual Congress (Spring), and we also organize committees and tours. We bring together people from various industries, and encourage them to become interested in JSAE and join, while encouraging our members to participate in our activities. Furthermore, we aim to raise interest in carbon-neutral gas fuels and gas-fueled engines, promote the spread of gas-fueled vehicles, and seek solutions to the problems they face, while also promoting discussions from the perspective of issues related to the use of renewable energy.
